          കിഴങ്ങിൽ നിന്നും മുളക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചെറു ഓഷധിയാണിത്. വളരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് കൂട്ടമായി വളരുന്നു. മെറൂൺ നിറമുള്ള തണ്ട്, ഇലയുടെ അടിവശം ഇളം വയലറ്റ്, മുകളിൽ പച്ച.ഇലകൾ ഏകാന്തരം. വൃത്താകൃതിയുള്ള ഇലയുടെ leaf base ഹൃദയാകാരമാണ്. ചെടിയുടെ മുകളറ്റത്ത് പൂക്കുല ഉണ്ടാവുന്നു. ഇളം വയലറ്റ് നിറമുള്ള പൂവിന് bell ആകൃതി. പൂവിൽ നിറയെ രോമങ്ങൾ കാണാം.

പൂക്കൾ കുലകളായി ഉണ്ടാവുന്നു, ചുവന്ന കാലിക്സും മഞ്ഞ കൊറോളയും ചേർന്ന് മനോഹരമായ പൂക്കൾ കോറോളക്കുള്ളിൽ ചുവന്ന വരകൾ ഉണ്ട്, ചുവന്ന പൂഞെട്ട് രോമങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞതാണ് ഇതളുകളിലും രോമങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.
നാലു കേസരങ്ങളും ഒരു സ്റ്റൈലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു, സ്റ്റിഗ്മ രണ്ട് ലോബുകളാണ്, ഓവറി മുകളിലാണ്.
